1. Monday Night League

It was a Monash vs Ex-Monash Division 2 final on December 19th, as Monash narrowly

defeated Keen As MufStard for the title 13 - 12.

In Division 3, Moist MUF (6th) finished just ahead of Loose MUF (7th), with 5 and 4 wins respectively.

Moist's goal difference for the season was 2, whilst Loose ended with -5.

Moist backed up its superiority at the Grudge Match, convincingly taking the game, 15 - 6.

Not only have Chris Kaliviotis and Steven Thomas been awarded FULL Blues, but

Monash Ultimate has been named the 2011 Club of the Year!

Details of the awards presentation evening is as follows:

Date: Thursday 24 November, 2011

Time: 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start.

Location:Monash University Clayton Campus. Building 64, South 1 Theatre and Foyer.

4. The Melbourne Hat

The largest Hat tournament of the year is taking place from December 10th - 11th at Albert Park.

Ultimate players from all over Australia descend on Melbourne to take part in this iconic event.

Players enter as individuals into a specific category ranging from Beginners to Worlds players.

They are then allocated to a team for the weekend.

Monash entered the Semi-Final seeded first having defeated UWA and Melb in the pool games.

Semi-Final

UWA took the first 2 points to lead 2 - 0.

It was a tight game with teams trading until half time at 8 - 6. Monash finally found its fire and scored the last 6 points to win 14 - 8.

Final

The sun came out for the final game against Melbourne Uni. Even after having convincingly beaten them in the pool game, Melb came out fighting. Monash had the lead 7 - 3 at one stage and took half at 8-7. However Melb went on a run and were up 10 - 8.

At 13 -12 to Monash, time cap was called and it would be a game to 14. Melbourne score to level it at 13 - 13. Monash start on offence and with no turnovers, score to win 14-13. 

2. Monday Night League

Moist (Div 3) and MUF (Div 2) unfortunately lost their finals games against VU and Melb Uni respectively.

However, the Next Monday Night League season begins on Monday 17th October and will run until the 19th December.

Social League is back for the last few weeks of Semester 2.

4. Kaliviotis Awards

Monash Ultimate Frisbee hosts the annual 'Kaliviotis Awards'. (Think of the Brownlows, but frisbee style!)

There are the Male and Female MVP prizes, Dinovitser Award (for best up and coming player), Clubperson of the year and much much more.

This year the awards will be held at the College Lawn Hotel.

The $40 ticket includes a 2-course meal and can be purchased from Jrod, Matt, Grace or Mandy. It will be an epic night!

5. Australian Mixed Ultimate Championships

If you are looking for a reason to procrastinate over the weekend or just want to see some high quality mixed ultimate, come and spectate at the Australian Mixed Ultimate Championships this Sat 8th Oct - Mon 10th Oct!
