MUF had a huge win in its semi final last night over Intrepalicious. Final score was 15-7! The game started out close as both teams traded the first few points. The still conditions made for fast flowing, error free Ultimate and both teams scored with ease. After Intrepalicious called a time-out with the scores at 6-5 (MUF leading), we used this opportunity to fire up our defence. It definitely worked as MUF came out playing some really solid D to force the turnover and converted these opportunities into goals. After half-time MUF took the ascendency and used its large bench to rotate fresh players through. Intrepalicious ran out of puff in the second half and was unable to reproduce its first half form. The grand final for Summer League takes places next Monday, April 20th. It kicks off at 8:30pm. There will be a FREE BBQ and drinks for sale so make sure you come on down to Albert Park (Fields 4,5,6) to cheer on MUF as it takes on MUCUS for the Summer League title! |
