nonASH ground out a hard fought win over monASH last night at league. Final score, 10-7. A fairly strong wind was prevalent all game with both teams putting on great zone defences on the upwinders. Lots of long throws downwind, some coming off for fast scores to both teams.
There is no training this Sunday, July 5th, as it is MUF's Trivia Night! Get your tables together, or come as a small group and join a table on the night. $10 per person is payable on the night. See the Trivia Night page for full details and a registration form.
A reminder that there is no league next Monday, July 6th, as MUF will be playing SUG during the day. |

nonASH (MUF X) has a game tomorrow against Intrepalicariffic at 8:30pm, while monASH (MUF Y) has a bye.
Also, there will be no training next Sunday, June 28th. The SUG team will be playing a practise match against Melbourne Uni at 3pm. Location TBC.
Update: Unfortunately the practise match against Melbourne Uni has fallen through. We're reverting back to normal training on Sunday, June 28th at 3pm. Same location as always, Soccer ovals at Monash Uni.

See the Trivia Night page for full details (including a sweet flyer designed by Tuna) and a registration form.
You don't need a full table of 8-10 to attend. If you're on your own or have a small group, just fill out the rego form and let us know how many of you there are. We'll pair your group (or yourself) up with another incomplete table.
Should be a fun night, hope to see lots of you guys there.
p.s. Grace, I heard a rumour of $2.50 pots. Confirm or deny?! |

Have had a few people ask whether trainings are being run during exams and the answer is yes. It's a great way to take a break from the studying and get some fresh air!
Same place as our usual trainings, at 3pm.
Hope to see everyone there! Lots to work on with only a little over two weeks to go before SUG |

Firstly congratulations go out to Alex Ong (King) and Nicky Smith (Queen) who were the eventual winners of the tournament. We also shouldn't forget the others who were tied on points but lost out in the tiebreaker (which will be improved for next year!); Pam, Kerry and Jack. Great work guys!
Also a huge congratulations and thanks to Ash for putting on an awesome tournament. Everything ran smoothly and hopefully everyone had a great time. We should probably thank the weather, beautiful sunshine, no wind to speak of and not a drop of rain in sight made the day much more enjoyable.
It was great to see quite a few of our new recruits out there at their first tournament, for some it was their first competitive games outside of training. No better way to learn how to play than to get thrown into an all day tournament! First of many tournaments to come hopefully. I tried to get around to everyone but it seemed like you guys learnt a lot and by the end of the day had made huge improvements. Well done!
Also a reminder that MUF will be hosting a trivia night on Sunday, July 5th. Lots of prizes on offer. $10 per person, tables of between 8-10. More details to come really soon and registrations will open as well.
Thanks again to everyone who played in the tournament and we hope you guys all had a good time.
As always, there were a few items of lost property picked up at the end of the day. If you lost something or left something behind on the day, shoot Ashleigh an email and she'll let you know if she has it. |
