Friday Social is on this Friday at the normal time of 3-5pm HOWEVER WE HAVE BEEN MOVED FIELDS!
the new fields are directly behind Monash sport (building 1) and are called 'temp 5'.
they are only 100 off metres away from the baseball fields so shouldn't be a problem.

And it’s BACK! The annual Monash King & Queens Tourney will be held on Sunday May 6th , starting at 9am and finishing at 3.30pm at the Hockey Dr, Albert Park.

If you know you’ll be a PTD sufferer post-Nationals, are looking for more experience or pulling at the leash to experience your first ever ultimate tournament than this is for you!

There will be 4 rounds of Ultimate in a fun and relaxed social environment, with new Hat teams formed after each round. If your team wins, you’re that one point closer to being crowned King or Queen of the 2012 Monash Tournament!

Lunch, presentation BBQ, field, teams, insurance and prizes will be provided by the extremely generous MUF Club. In return, we ask only for a meagrely $30 for this fun-filled day with the Ultimate community! Please transfer monies to:

Div1 will commence season 2 of league at 7:00pm where MUFia will take on S.Y.T.Y.C on field 1.

Both div 2 MUF teams will then be playing their first games of the season at 8:30:

following div 2 there will be an infamous pickle club run (if you are unaware of what this is ask anyone who has played before)

Friday Social will be recommencing this week (20/4), same place/time as always, and we urge you all to come down.

The Australian Ultimate Championships 2012 will be held in Newcastle on the 22nd-25th of April of which MUF sports a large number of participants, we wish them all the best of luck!!

The Division II Nationals were held this weekend in Melbourne of which HOS Black came away victors going undefeated the whole weekend.

The team was made up of a number of MUF representatives and we congratulate them on their spectacular achievement!!

Monash Ultimate Frisbee Club, two-time AUG Division 1 GOLD Medalists, are raring to go for the 2012 Season.If you would like to be a part of this fantastic team, here are some details you should know:

The Australian University Games Team will be selected in May and will compete at the Southern University Games in LaTrobe Valley from 2nd - 6th July 2012and Australian University Games in Adelaide 23rd - 28th September.

Note: Extra players not selected for the AUG team may be taken to SUGs for development purposes.

Dates

• Trials: Sunday May 13th and May 20th at Monash Clayton 10am - 12pm- Compulsory if trying out for the AUG team.- Anyone is welcome to come even if they are not trying out.
• Selection Results: Latest by May 27th. A maximum of 18 players will be selected with a 10 male - 8 female split (discretionary).
• SUG Training: Sunday June 24th at Monash Clayton.
• SUGs: 2nd - 6th July in the LaTrobe Valley.- Approximate cost: $130 registration fee, $110 accommodation , transport and food.
• AUG Training: Each Sunday from 22nd July -16th September
• AUG Training Camp: TBA Late August/Early September ($30 for food/transport)
• AUGs: 23rd - 28th September 2012, Adelaide.- Approximate cost: $160 registration fee, $250 flights (can also drive), $120 accommodation, $100 car hire and food.

Selection Criteria 
Selection for the AUG team is based on

1. Playing Ability and Skills- Backhand and Forehand Offense (understanding and implementation)- Horizontal and Vertical Stacks Defense (understanding and implementation)- Man-Man Defense and Zone Defense- Fitness- Coaching potential (How quickly candidates can learn and apply)
2. Performance during- May Selection Trials- Monday Night League- Friday Afternoon Social League

Selection

Selection of the AUG team will be made by the 2012 AUG Coach (Andrew Moroney) along with Amanda Fung and Natalie Rae, with additional selections to be made for others to attend SUGs, after consultation with previous AUG players.

All potential selectees who have notified the President of their intention to try out for the AUG team will be emailed by Sunday 27th May with the results (AUG-team, SUG-addition, unsuccessful), with the wider community to be notified later in the following week.

Commitment 

The AUG Representative Team will be expected to:

- Attend weekly Sunday trainings

- Attend any day-long or weekend-long training

- Play Division 2 Monday Night League as the MUF team for Season 3

- Do extra trainings outside of these times, as mandated by the Coach or Team

- Attend AUGs

- Attend SUGs
